SCREENING
We are honored that you have chosen us to be your partner in health! Your absulute satisfaction is our highest priority. A mutually satisfying relationship begins by building trust. We ask that all first-time clients fill out a short health form which is designed to safeguard your health and alert your therapist to any conditions that might prevent you from enjoying the full benefits of one of our wonderful massages.
It is only necessary to fill the form out once. After the initial intake you can update your information as necessary.
BEFORE YOUR MASSAGE
It's a good idea to arrive approximately five minutes prior to your appointment so that you will not feel rushed and can begin the relaxation process. Your therapist will greet you when it is time for your massage and escort you to the massage room. He or she will review your health form and address anything that needs clarification. All information that is gathered is kept confidential.
If you will be receiving chair massage you will remain fully clothed. The massage chair will be adjusted based on your specific needs. For massages on the table you may undress to your level of comfort--a level that will allow your therapist to work effectively yet modestly. In either case your therapist will ask about areas you would like to focus on. It's YOUR massage and we want you to enjoy it, so don't be shy about asking for just what you need.
DURING YOUR MASSAGE
Chair massage: Special attention is paid to the neck, shoulders, and back. Your therapist may also work on your hands, forearms, arms, scalp, and calves. If there is a particular area you would like to omit, be sure to let your therapist know. Lotion or oil may be used on certain areas to enhance your massage and will not leave you feeling greasy if you need to return to work.

Table massage: Your therapist will tell you how to lie on the table (facing up or down) before leaving the room so that you can undress. He or she will check with you before re-entering the room or area to ensure that you are ready. You will be draped at all times for modesty. Only the area that is being massaged will be uncovered. Depending on the massage you have chosen your therapist may use oils or lotions.

Pressure: Your therapist will ask about the pressure during the massage to make sure it is adequate. You may ask for less or more pressure at any time to customize the massage for particular areas of your body. We do not subscribe to the "no pain no gain" approach when it comes to massage. Massage does not have to hurt to be effective. However, you may feel slightly sore the next day after receiving trigger point or targeted work on certain areas.
Music: The right kind of music can be a wonderful aid in the relaxation process. We can adjust the volume depending on your preference.
When receiving a massage try to be "limp as a noodle". It is not necessary to help your therapist unless requested to do so. Breathing properly during your massage will allow your body to work with instead of against the therapist. If you do become aware that you are holding your breath, simply exhale deeply. Exhale as the therapist applies pressure; inhale as the pressure is released.
Your therapist will gently and quietly let you know when your massage has ended. He or she will encourage you to take a few moments to return to reality. The benefits of massage include decreased stress and muscular tension along with increased circulation and sense of well being.
AFTER YOUR MASSAGE
When you are ready your therapist will escort you to the reception desk or waiting area. You may then pay for your massage. If you will be using a coupon or discount, please let your therapist know before hand so that it can be applied to your invoice. You may include a tip if you desire.
In addition to your health form that is kept on file your therapist will keep track of services you receive each time along with your preferences. This level of service is what sets us apart and helps us to get to know you over time while providing continuity of services regardless of the therapist that serves you. Feedback is always welcomed!
Be well,
The staff at Workplace Massages Inc.
